7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to some extra sleep, tomorrow my plans include a Teaching Social Justice conference with good friend/colleague and Sunday, I want to watch football, of course!

I think No2 involves showing them some passion for learning and life, along with the patience to allow them to warm up -

did I mention my high school child's lang.arts assignment? create a postsecret postcard? saw them on his classroom bulletin board this morning. still have goose bumps. some kids did a superb job. some were very simple, but the message hit you right between in breastplate.
oh, and saturday evening will be my football bonding time. go aggies! beat the hell outta arkansas! whoop!
