shallow end

I know I'm late to this party but I am loving Jeremy Sisto since starting to watch my new favorite time-suck Six Feet Under.

I suddenly have an urge to acquire a giant braided rug.

thank you for the lovely shot!

suburban mom fantasies

Got it goin' on.

Me & the man who indulges my delusional pseudo-groupie behavior

Good girlfriends who lovingly go along with my fanaticism

Mmmm, cocktail & calamari

Emptied pockets & purse
(Thanks again to Sam for pilfering the poster!)

I know I'm a complete lame ass for not taking photos at the actual concert; Stu tried with his cell phone but they turned out looking like bad UFO sightings. I really wish I could have captured the slightly disdainful, contemptuous (but ohmyGod still hot in a bad bad boy way) looks from Jody or the sweet, geekish enrapt faces of Chris & Adam but alas. [Brian on drums is usually cute *see striped shirt guy in poster* but resembled Grizzly Adams last night so I'm leaving him off my list of must-have-gotten shots; no offense to very hairy bearded individuals, it's just not my thing].

The concert was slightly longer than last time and they did play most of the songs I missed then (I take this as a sign that they read my numerous pleading e-mails blog and only want to please me), plus it was 21+ which is good for not having teenagers squealing near me [I just want to be away from teenagers on my days off, please God] and for being able to drink my vanilla Cosmo outside of a roped area. But that distinction really seemed to mean "AARP discounts this way!" The volume of near-geriatric, sitting-the-entire-time (!!!) fans was kind of weird, though it certainly helped make me feel young & hot.

In the end, a pleasant time. Though I'm still hoping for a return e-mail or post-concert party invitation someday; for now I'll settle for Facebook friendship. Oh yes I did.

caramelo del ojo

Because it's been por siempre since I drooled over admired my very caliente talented Mexican boyfriend [and because brain dead/end of week]:

Hola. I really like your shirt.

I will save you from the oncoming traffic!
(After I take this picture)

Everyone stop talking. Right now.

De nada to everyone, except probably Larry - lo siento, amigo.

me mateys

Ladies of the [Happy] Hour(s)
Holly, Shana, me (not sure why the significant listing), Lisa & Lia
The phenomenal Amy went home before my
driver photographer
darling husband arrived to take a photo

A glorious package of special order
Pirate Hats arrived today

Mason wore his throughout homework time

Paige absconded with mine ("Large") for awhile

I am immensely thankful for all of these people helping to improve my disgruntled post-snow/too-extended break funky mood.
I might just wear a pirate hat to school tomorrow (since I can't take a cocktail).

gifted

My own real-life grocery boy.
Yes, he really bought this apron but no,
he was not really naked at breakfast.

A beloved hand-me-down from a beloved friend.

We can't judge the joy in a 10-year old nerd's
Star Wars fan's heart.

Warm toes, check.
Mismatched outfit, check.
Innocent delight, check.

Serious business

Paper crowns all the way from England.
Skull shirt at Christmas = strictly Americana.

Enjoying the bounty with Grandpa.

son of frozen tundra

The weather outside is frightful.

Inside it's so delightful.

Another view of outside from within

I can manage a shot just outside the front door without becoming hypothermic.

The boy found Nevada in our backyard.

Paige gives new meaning to "iced tea."

I'm so sorry, little Japanese maple,
but it's too perilous for me to even try shaking that off.

Yes I had to go all the way into the driveway for this shot,
risking frostbite on my Crocs-clad toes.
I'm that dedicated to my craft.

Okay, forget I ever asked for snow. Done.

the eating, the drinking, the being merry

Welcome to our home!

The elves having been working hard

(Apparently my son thinks it's balmy in our house)

The finished goods

(Note the Cowboy star, just for mom; extra presents for Mason!)

Join us for grown-up time
(Yes three bottles of wine; don't judge)

thinking hard

What you get for a post when I have exhausted my brain during the week:

Men playing chess at Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris

*Seriously, he spent about 15 minutes of our European vacation stalking these dudes for the perfect lighting, angle, background, texture...I thought they might come over and tell us to cassez-vous, but the game was apparently that intense; they didn't seem to notice. Lucky; I think Pink Shirt could have taken both of us.

special requests

Because I'm lazy and have nothing else to say today some people have asked nicely for this & that, I would like to comply.

Here is one of the "classy" fly traps we have hanging in a [vain] attempt to capture the insects plaguing us. Happy update: Fewer flies lately, and even though they're not being caught by the traps, it does mean nothing is actually rotting in my house. (I hate that I even entertained that possibility).

Poor little denigrated kitchen goddess...

CoffeeYogurt requested a look at our Cobra that we drove up to Stu's sort-of reunion last weekend. I can't find any with us looking all cool sitting in it, so you'll have to enjoy this shot from our driveway.

My man does good work, no?

Then someone requested video of me with my new Wii Fit and Mel, a Dramatic Mommy challenged me to a Hula Hoop contest but I'm not quite ready for that kind of prime time so I'll let you go here. Trust me, it's a much better option [not outrageous, but probably not for work viewing].

And no one in particular asked for any eye candy but I thought it was time.

Mr. Fantastic, indeed...
