I just received a book that I'm pretty sure is going to change my life.

Living mindfully & intentionally? Yes please, sign me up. It seems a little crazy that I can't just do that on my own but everyday mundane stuff tends to clog my gears and I, inexplicably, forget to pay attention to the truly important stuff [which can sometimes be that mundane stuff].
This is pretty much the introduction to the book. I'm looking forward to reading every other word over & over until the habit of being alive sticks for good. Feel free to join me.

Looks like I'll be picking that book up too. I need a good kick in the ass. Thanks for sharing.
Oy. I'm heading (back) over to Amazon today to get this book. My second book order of the day. Well third if you count that I bought two of the same books based on a recommendation at Vintage Thirty.
Power to the blogger book reviewers.
Seriously. I'm buying this book. Thanks for the pointer to the intro and your thoughts.
Sounds fascinating. I need all the help I can get.
I clicked over and was stunned at the post. My mom died a month after her lung cancer diagnosis. When she talked about thinking about what to do with her dad, it really made me reflect on what we did.
Mostly we just sat. I brushed her hair a lot (as she had done for me when I was small). We talked infrequently, but always about important things.
It was a life-altering experience.
I am going to buy it now! It's good to always think about what really matters and gain some new perspective. I can't wait to read it.
Would you think me shallow if my reply was "eat as much chocolate as my eager little fingers can stuff into my mouth" ? Yes? Ok then. I guess I need to read this book. I definately dwell too long in the minuta (minutae?) of the mundane. I get overwhelmed by the chores of daily living. I'd really like to be more fully appreciative and work more on a worthwhile legacy (and eat more chocolate).
Those look like potato chips on her back...YUM!
wow! sounds like an awesome intense read! Can't wait until you share more. Like the Bad Mom, 37 Days Cliff Notes edition?
Sold. Ordered it last night. Happy New Year Bad Mom!
Just ordered the book as a NYE present to myself.
Janet pointed me to your blog and I think it is great. We have many of the same interests in common. I thought you might find this article on mindfulness interesting.
The Effect of Mindfulness
Oooh, I may have to get me this one. I'm always on the look out for something to motivate and uplift. Thanks!
Sounds like a wonderful book. I'm putting it on my list (and I do read books on my list, I just can't make an Amazon order yet.)
