young heroes

One of our seniors wrote this for the graduation program; I could not possibly describe our school better.

Hayes Freedom is a lot of things to each person here. It's a school, yes, but it's proven to be more than that to each of us.

Hayes isn't a 'run of the mill' place. We are small; we see each other nearly every day. We aren't all friends, but we do know each other. We know we all have our own intentions, goals, and stories. We respect that. We protect each other. We've all developed family here.

When you come here bonds will be formed. No matter who you are, you'll be able to find somebody who wants to talk to you, to get to know you. Hayes accepts what you bring to the table; the people here are diverse and friendships can form anywhere between anybody.

When we leave Hayes we leave behind an imprint. Some will return to visit. We'll return for many reasons, some because this is our school, some because so many months, so many years of our lives were spent here, some because Hayes is a home you can always return to.

~ Tiffany P., Class of 2009 Renegades

I am proud to send people like this into the world, into our future.

save this for when your school needs to make a pitch to local govt for tax $ or for grant applications, etc. Its wonderful to read.

That's awesome. And the fact you probably had a lot to do with that even better.
