Checked in at swanky, boutique-y Hotel Modera
(Side note: Because we are prone to traveling misadventures, even in the city six miles from our house, we walked completely around the block to find the hotel lobby; what we thought was an entrance turned out to be the still-under-construction restaurant - imagine my minor freakout thinking the hotel I thought I'd booked ON VALENTINE'S DAY was not actually open yet)
Yes, I kind of was in the actual street
but luckily did not get hit by this cab
These are Benson Bubblers and never fail
to refresh and/or amuse
Lunch at Pastini, where we indulged in our weird pasttime
of reading personal ads aloud to each other
The tattoo comes out for date night
Air shark
[Insert wine tasting & delightful French film here]
Welcome to Veritable Quandary!
Shirt & shoes required for everyone not attached to the wall
Bacon-wrapped, cheese & almond stuffed date, ahoy!
This chandelier made me happy[er]
The morning after
(This throw made me giddy every time I touched it -
a delectable fake fur offered by our hotel as an 'amenity'
for a mere $200; alas I did not bring it home)
Au revoir, mis amis.

How come fake rabbit fur makes my chin look fat?
I had a fun valentine's day.

It all looks wonderful, but being a bit of a "bag lady," I'm having a hard time getting past that too cute black with white top-stitching number on the bed!
I love your fear that the hotel was not yet open. When we moved to the NW from the east coast, we weren't 100% sure that the duplex we'd rented actually existed. Clark County was growing so fast (kind of still is) that none of the roads we were told to turn on to get to the place were on any map. Imagine crossing your fingers for 3,000 miles while driving a moving van.
Do you really wear your glasses in bed? And who took that picture anyway? Did Stu finally get his 3-some?
Tee hee. Glad you had a fun time!
That looks fabulous. Portland seems like such a cool city.
Read personals aloud? I love that! It's comedy gold, isn't it?
looks like fun! I love Veritable Q.
sounds blissful and perfect.
I love how your pictures really capture the details of your life.
And I think it's sweet, the way your husband is looking at you in the picture!
Now this was entertaining. Finally, someone who understands not only how to celebrate Valentine's Day, but also blog about it.
I really do like your approach to the blog world, Stephanie. Not only are you willing to risk your life in pursuit of a quality photo, but you hit upon all of the important points of an event, e.g. faux fur.

PS: Does this post imply that the tattoo does not make an appearance at the school where you work?
Love that bag, the hair & tat, the water fountain and the lighting fixture! Glad you all had a good time :-)
Sounds fantastic. And if that is your purse on your bed, I love it!!
Looks totally fun.
If that is not the definition of a shit eating grin I don't know what is! Glad your Valentine's Day was a good one.
