upheaval
Our school will be in a different building next year [not to be confused with the new building we'll be in by 2010]. Thus the outrageous task of packing all of my books, plans, and crap treasures. And while we are not leaving behind anything close to a state-of-the-art facility, it has been our home. I've been aggravated about the boxing & sorting and such not because it's a nuisance as much as because I really will miss my rundown, no heater, broken blinds, busted light fixture, haunted by past students' complaints & jeers & chuckles & cheers old room.

Ooh, that last pic got me little... hope it all works out at your new digs.
Aw. I feel a little melancholy for you:(
An now most of it is at our house...
You will make whatever space you move into next year a great one for your students.
Love ya,
-Stu
It is sad to me as well. I am so looking forward to the new building, but I certainly wish I could hit fast forward to get through this temp building year...!
oh woops--that's me, Hollie! Not the hubby, commenting! :o)
So sorry you're sad about moving,
But this coming fall you'll be grooving.
Kick the sorrow away,
Spend this summer at play.
It's time now for you to be 'couve-ing!
Love the pics of the classroom!
the stupidity poster is excellent - and the idea of sweating is real enough to make kids think! :)
John Wayne said "Life is tough, it's even tougher when you're stupid."
but they probably don't know who John is...
A was in a group that heard a superintendent say "My father, an educator in rural Alabama, said "Three moves equals one fire." Look at this move as an opportunity to get rid of the extra."
Not that platitudes ever lightened even one burden for even an instant.
Happy boxing day!
It's miserable packing stuff all away. I'm glad it's done; it's Friday and you have so much fun stuff ahead this weekend.
:)
You will create an amazing new space. I just know it.
It's so hard packing everything up and moving. But I agree with those who said you will make the new space a good classroom. It's the teacher who makes the classroom great, not the other way around.
