My nerdilicious son & his equally delightfully geeky friend clamored to see a local Civil War reenactment on Saturday and though I generally do not love outdoor activity, it seemed a fine opportunity to encourage study of history [read: war & weapons]. And to wear my supercute polka dot boots.

This looks like an interesting day spent together! What a great way for the boys to learn history lessons.I love nerdilicious kids too.
I've lived in Virginia -- you know, the capital of the Confederacy and the location of a great many Civil War battlefields -- my entire life and, even though I'm within spitting distance of some of the fields and I'm a history buff, I have never once attended a reenactment.
Also? Supercute polka boots? Photos?
Totally loving this way to blog your photos and your day! You are a super mom. But I'm with Jen where the bleep are the boots?!
I'm a little relieved noone can see the polka boots because I can't seem to pull up any of the photo's : (
sounds like a fun day, tho.
And even though we can't so much really SEE the boots, I'm just wondering how anyone can really miss the fact the NOTHING says Civil War reenactment like polka dot boots. I mean seriously, they're like so era specific. I saw it on the History Channel.
i think your nerdy son is super cool. i think i'd also love your boots, but hello? no photo of the boots, so now we'll never know.
Gee I felt like I was back in TN watching your photos! There are some diehard Civil War fans there in TN. But I've never been to a reenactment either. I did LOVE visiting the antebellum homes though. And the cemetaries. They are neat.
Very cool! I wanted to see the boots too, though.
Wow! That looks spectacular!! We don't have things like that here very often...
